GUERILLA TESTING AND PROTOTYPING

Moderna Museet

This UX project was conducted for Moderna Museet with the purpose of evaluating and improving the usability and engagement of the museum’s current website. The project focused on identifying opportunities to enhance user interest in visiting the museum by assessing how effectively the digital experience supports discovery, inspiration, and booking of exhibitions.

CHALLENGE

The assignment was to review and identify potential improvement areas of the existing website by applying the guerrilla usability testing method. The goal was to understand how real users interact with the site, uncover usability issues that may reduce engagement or conversion, and explore how the digital experience could better encourage users to plan and book museum visits.

PROCESS & RESULTS

The research phase included on-site guerrilla testing at Moderna Museet, where my team and I engaged directly with museum visitors and staff. Participants were given specific scenarios and tasks, such as finding information about exhibitions or booking a visit, to observe their behavior, decision-making, and friction points in real time. These interactions provided qualitative insights into user expectations, motivation, and pain points. Miro was used for for mapping insights and patterns aswell as to analyze and structur our finding. Figma was used to develop design explorations and proposed improvements.

Based on thorough user feedback and analysis, the project resulted in a set of design recommendations and potential interface improvements aimed at increasing clarity, engagement, and conversion. Proposed solutions included improved navigation structure, clearer calls to action, optimized content presentation for exhibitions, and alternative design variations to test user behavior.
